Maud Lewis - Oxen in the Spring

Maud Lewis - Oxen in the Spring

HISTORIC BACKGROUND

Maud Lewis (1909-1970)

Looking at folk artist Maud Lewis's delightful depictions of life in rural Nova Scotia, who would
imagine such joyful expressions would come out of pain, deformity and poverty. Or perhaps
they are what helped her endure, brought a light into her life, as they continue to do in ours.

This exclusive cross-stitch design is based on the original Maud Lewis painting.
It was produced by FOXBERRY COTTAGE CRAFTS
under agreement with the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.
