HISTORIC BACKGROUND
Though no longer a working beacon, the lighthouse at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, continues to keep watch over the entrance to St Margaret's Bay. Its rocky granite perch has survived the grinding of glacial ice and the daily pounding of Atlantic surf. Today the structure is the only post office in Canada operated from a lighthouse.
